"The purpose of this society shall be to bring together at regularly scheduled meetings people interested in history and especially in collecting and preserving for study and research written records and other historical materials concerning the Borough of Manasquan, NJ and surrounding areas."
The Squan Village Historical Society regular monthly meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:30 pm at the Manasquan Public Library, Broad Street, Manasquan. No meeting is held in August. All meetings are open to the public and all guests, friends, and new members are welcomed. Yearly Dues are $10.00 per person or a Lifetime Membership of $100.00 per person and your name will be engraved on our Life Mambership Plaque
Our museum is located in the Bailey-Reed House (105 South St., Manasquan.) The c1790 farmhouse consists of 10 rooms, four of which feature furniture and fixtures appropriate to the original periods of the home. Other rooms in the museum feature themes pertaining to local Squan area history, nautical subjects, and a rotating display of topics or artifacts of interest to the public.
