The circa 1700 home was purchased by the Squan Village Historical Society in August of 1997. During the past 3 years, the structure has been renovated, and preserved as an historic building and is now open for public viewing. Within this three year period projects such as new roof, electrical work, plumbing, heating system, insulation, paint, foundation and chimney repair, etc. have been completed. This was achieved through time and work donated by members opf the society and by local businesses as well as some paid professional labor.

The Bailey-Reed House Museum is open for public viewing year rounf on the second Sunday of each month from 1:00 to 4:00 pm or on other occasions for special tours by appointment. This old farmhouse consists of 10 rooms, four of which feature furniture and fixtures appropriate to the original periods of the home. Other rooms in the museum feature themes pertaining to local Squan Village History, Nautical Subjects, and a rotating display of topics or artifacts of interest to the public. The admission is free. Donations are appreciated.

If you have not yet visited the recently completed Bailey-Reed House Museum, we look forward to welcoming you into "Where the Past Feels Like the Day Before Yesterday."
